Hand over the first two jobs, not the whole week · (954) 287-4734

Light Housekeeping in Cooper City

This is not cleaning. It is the kitchen, the bathroom, the washing and the floors people actually walk across, held at the level that lets somebody carry on living in the house.

A kitchen with a clean sink, shelf and worktop

Housework is a safety matter first

Once nobody is keeping on top of a kitchen it stops being about tidiness. Food goes off, a ring gets left burning, the lino turns slippery, and the bin grows too heavy for anybody in the house to shift.

It is also the plainest early warning going. Forty years of an immaculate house, and then a house that is only nearly immaculate, tells you more than any telephone conversation ever will.

So the work gets done, and whatever the condition of the rooms implies gets written down too. Both halves of that matter.

Housekeeping is done inside the visit rather than as a separate booking. An aide with an hour in the house does the kitchen and bathroom while the kettle is on, not as a distinct job with its own hour attached.

Where a house has got badly behind, that is a one-off clean by a cleaning firm, and we will say so rather than charge care rates for it.

What gets done

Fitted around everything else in the visit, never booked as a clean in its own right.

A kitchen you can cook in

Plates washed, worktops wiped, the hob dealt with, and a run through the fridge for anything past its date.

A bathroom that is safe to use

Wiped down, the floor left dry, and a glance at the mat and the grab rails while the aide is in there.

Washing and bedding

A load run, dried, folded and put back, with sheets changed on a set rotation.

The floors that get crossed

Hall, kitchen, bathroom. Dry and clear of obstacles counts for far more here than shine.

Post, bins and paper

Rubbish out, letters collected off the mat, and the pile on the table sorted into somewhere it can be found again.

The state of it noted

When a home starts to slide it is usually the earliest thing anybody can actually see, so it goes in the notes as a signal rather than a chore.

What this is not

  • Spring cleans and deep cleans
  • Anything outdoors — windows, gutters, paths
  • Shifting heavy furniture or white goods
  • Clearing rooms that have been filling up for years
  • Gardens and yards
  • Jobs needing a ladder or protective kit

Often the easiest first handover

It is simple to accept, visibly useful, and it puts a sensible person in the house every week.
